Jatinderpal Chahal, DVM
Dr. Jatinderpal Chahal is a General Practitioner and co-founder of Ace Animal Hospital.
As a child growing up in Punjab, India, Dr. Chahal experienced the loss of a family dog to a splenic tumor, which affected him in such a manner that it encouraged him to seek a life caring for animals. He adds, “I grew up in a rural environment in close proximity to animals. I fed cattle and dogs and developed a relationship with these animals, which guided me to become a veterinarian.”
For his veterinary studies, Dr. Chahal attended the College of Veterinary Science at Punjab Agriculture University and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. His areas of professional interest include internal medicine, surgery, and laser surgery and therapy. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. He is also a graduate of the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates program at Louisiana State University’s College of Veterinary Science.
At home he has an English Bulldog named Princess Roni-Roo. Dr. Chahal’s interests include soccer, listening to music and reading books.
Parminder Aulakh, DVM
Dr. Parminder Aulakh is a General Practitioner and co-founder of Ace Animal Hospital.
Ever since his early childhood in Punjab, India, Dr. Aulakh has held a love for animals, which deepened after saving a small bird from a roadside when he was 12-years-old. Now that he is a veterinarian, he says he enjoys being able to help speechless creatures.
For his veterinary studies Dr. Aulakh attended the College of Veterinary Science at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University in Ludhiana Punjab where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. His areas of professional interest include emergency medicine and he is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Aulakh and his wife Harmant, also a veterinarian, have a young daughter, Jessica, who enjoys dancing, singing and coming to the Hospital to play with the puppies.
Dr. Aulakh’s interests include tennis, golf and exploring technology.
Ashley Parra, DVM
Dr. Ashley Parra is a General Practitioner who has been a member of the Ace Animal Hospital Veterinary Staff since June of 2011.
A native of Santa Rosa, California, Dr. Parra says her early years were spent at her parent's veterinary practice—her father is a veterinarian—where she worked from the time she was tall enough to wash windows. Working with her parents as well as raising and showing rabbits in 4H and caring for many other pets, she says, helped guide her to a veterinary career. Now that she is a veterinarian Dr. Parra says she enjoys building relationships with clients and caring for their pets.
For her undergraduate studies Dr. Parra attended the University of California – Davis where she received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology in 2005. A year later she enrolled in the University of California – Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2011.
Dr. Parra's areas of special professional interest include neonatal and internal medicine. She is a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association. She has also earned a Master's in Comparative Pathology.
At home, Dr. Parra has two pitbulls named Olive and Ramona, a boxer named Rosko and three cats named Radar, Lucia and Frank. Her interests include reading, music and wine tasting.
